The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) welcomed Dr. Andreas Wladis, recently appointed Director of the Division of Healthcare Management and Occupational Safety and Health (DHMOSH), accompanied by Dr. Ester Tan, Chief of Population Health Strategy and Intelligence, for a two-day visit to Brindisi.
The visit provided an opportunity for UNGSC and the new DHMOSH leadership team to exchange views on emerging occupational safety and health (OSH) priorities across the United Nations Secretariat and explore opportunities for closer collaboration.
Discussions focused on identifying mechanisms to enhance the technical and operational OSH support provided to Secretariat entities, responding to the growing need to strengthen OSH performance across diverse duty stations and operational environments.
The programme also included engagements with key UNGSC service areas, offering insights into the Centre's role in supporting global operations and highlighting opportunities to further integrate health, safety and wellbeing considerations into service delivery and organizational processes.
Through continued collaboration, UNGSC and DHMOSH remain committed to advancing safe, healthy and supportive working environments for UN personnel worldwide.
